We have worked with many projects, lasting from two days to two years work, commissioned by a range of organisations, from community and voluntary sector organisations, to strategic transformation projects within local government. Below is a flavour of some of the projects we have been involved with.
Psychology in Hotels
We are currently working with Thames Reach and South London and Maudsley NHS Trust to evaluate the economic impact of the Psychology in Hostels service, which operates within three Lambeth hostels.
Psychology in Hostels provides psychological support to people with multiple and complex needs, and ensures that the entire staff team are working with residents’ in a psychologically informed way.
Resolving Chaos are working with the London School of Economics Personal Social Services Research Unit (PSSRU) to establish the economic impact of the psychological support programme. This three-year evaluation ends March 2018, when our evaluation report will be published.
You First, the partnership delivering the Fulfilling Lives programme in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, is seeking to improve the way people with multiple needs including mental health, homelessness, substance misuse and offending problems, are supported. In doing so the programme will make a case for “changing the system” by gathering evidence and making the case for change. You First is funded by the Big Lottery Fund, one of twelve national Fulfilling Lives programmes.
Having led the initial mobilisation of the service and mid-project review which set the direction for the next phase of the project, Resolving Chaos worked with the Big Lottery Fund and our partners to establish arrangements for the delivery of the next steps of the You First Programme in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. The You First programme is now led by Certitude, with the You First team being managed by Thames Reach, both have been core partners within Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Fulfilling Lives programme since its inception.
Resolving Chaos are privileged to have been part of setting up such an innovative initiative and of all the achievements delivered by the You First team to this point. We wish the team and the Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Fulfilling Lives partnership continued success.

Housing for Women
We were commissioned to be a critical friend in a tender Housing For Women were preparing for new business. Using our experience of commissioning, we made a review of their tender submission, advised how to most effectively present their case, undertook a mock interview and presentation, as well as providing training to enhance future bid writing. We are pleased to say that Housing For Women were successful in this bid.
Investment Review of Supporting People investment in Brent
Resolving Chaos completed an investment review for the London Borough of Brent. The review tested the extent to which the Council’s Supporting People investment has contributed to the organisation’s ‘One Council’ priorities. As part of this review, Resolving Chaos examined existing front-line services in terms of current outcomes and effectiveness. They also quantified the service’s impact on individuals and communities focusing on homelessness prevention and access to costly statutory services. Where gaps in outcome data were identified, Resolving Chaos suggested specific data measures.
The review concluded with a value for money assessment (cost benefit analysis) and a number of recommendations for future investment opportunities to maximise the outcomes and financial benefit for local communities. The Council accepted the financial recommendations.
